On April 24th, 2021 our beautiful dogsblog.com co-founder Kim O’Meara passed away at the age of 38.
Kim was utterly devoted to the founding principles of dogsblog.com – to simply help find new homes for dogs in shelter.
Kim worked tirelessly on dogsblog.com’s mission of finding homes for rescue dogs. This website was her pride, her baby and now, devastatingly, her legacy.
Each year dogsblog.com helps an average of 4,282 dogs find a new home. dogsblog.com is entirely free for users and the rescues who benefit from the adoption enquiries we generate.
dogsblog.com is funded entirely through commercial sponsorship and donations from people who care about the work we do and want that work to continue. Since the covid pandemic hit, dogsblog.com has received £0.00 in commercial support and we have kept the site going with our own money and the few kind donations that have been pledged over the past 12 months.
When deciding on how we could best honour what Kim would have wanted, it really wasn’t a hard decision. Kim would want to know that dogsblog.com was in safe hands with a secure future, to keep doing the work that Kim spent so much of her life on.

Fudge is a 3-4 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who found himself in the care of the RSPCA Cheshire (Altrincham) because he was struggling to cope in a noisy family home with three young children.
Fudge’s rescue shared his details with dogsblog.com on 17th July and he was rehomed on 28th July with Tom Strutt and Ann Brown, who found him on dogsblog.com. The couple were looking to adopt a dog after they had recently lost their dog, Ben to cancer. Ann says, “The house felt empty without a dog so we decided to look online for another Staffie, a rescue one this time. There are so many wanting homes, they have been given a bad reputation but nearly all the ones we see are gentle and loving and so loyal.
“We saw Fudge online and he looked so happy, like all Staffies do. We drove four and a half hours to Manchester to see him at his foster home we were so pleased with him we brought him home with us.
Just look at his wonderful new life!
Fudge’s happiness is his way of saying thank you.
